3rd again

Villain was dealt AK 2x in a row, and I wake up with A6s. I never know what to do with a 15bb stack, so instashove from the button and out. Could get away from the hand with a minraise, but it's just a freeroll.

Bluff is one of the best at CC imo, a multi-tabling boss and deep thinker. Not surprised at all to see him win again.

Bovada MTTs

Played a $2.20 and an $11 last night. Was playing well and aggressive in the $11 until I check-shoved 88 on a 9-high board and lost to A9o. I had min-raised pf with 16ish BB and he called from the button. Flop was check check and the villain bet half pot, and I shoved thinking maybe he missed. I expect him to 3-bet TT+ in position pre and didn't think he would call with a dominated ace because I usually don't do that myself. Sometimes they have it...but I could've cut his stack in half and thought I might have fold equity.

Fared better in the 2.20:

The cash really helps the bankroll since I'm trying to avoid redepositing. I had maybe $86 in there and had no biz playing an $11 on such a low bankroll, but it worked out ok this time in one of them.

Full Flush freeroll, and ACR cash

Lost too many flips in the FF freeroll, but was otherwise happy with how I played. Punished a lot of limpers to pick up dead money. Nothing like a freeroll to get the "don't give a shit" back into your game.

Loaded up three short micro tables on ACR and had enough luck to repair the bankroll to $113. Was down to $106 at one point over the weekend while I was learning how to fold again, lol. Expecting more swings though as this is micro-stakes.

Chatted with a CC friend about Bovada and I'm considering making a $300 deposit like I originally did. It's really hard to run up from $96ish currently with no freerolls going on, and I need a decent bankroll to justify playing $2, $5, and $10 tourneys where the deep runs pay up to $1500+ for first.

Getting the game back on the rails.

So the good thing about playing a World Series of Poker event is that it can focus your studying efforts. I got more studying done in the 3 weeks before Vegas than I had in the prior 6 months. That's great, but the knowledge doesn't always transfer when you sit down to your first live tourney in half a year, lol. I could tell I was rusty as soon as the tourney director gave the "Shuffle Up and Deal" command.

Here's the biggest hand I played in the four hours of play before I busted out of LOFO:

I pick up 99 in the big blind with blinds at 25\50.
MP raises to 125 and the SB calls.
I 3-bet to 400, get a fold, then a call from the SB.
Flop is Q96 with two diamonds, so I hit my set but there is a diamond flush draw.
SB checks and I cbet 500 into a 925 pot.
SB reraises to 1200.

I lean back and act like I'm wondering what to do. Considering the pot is now pretty large relative to our stacks of 3400 to 3800 ish, I decide to shove.

Villain tanks and folds AQ.

I think the 3bet preflop was a bit aggressive. If the original raiser calls, then the SB is calling too, and I don't hit my set often enough there to justify the pf reraise, plus I'll be squeezed by them postflop. If I just call the raise pre, then my hand is very disguised and I'm likely to get more value when the SB and I both check and the pf raiser cbets.

Anyway, would've been nice to get more hands in before I was a goner, but what can you do. At $1,111, rebuying was not an option.

Other than that, I'm playing CardsChat Summer League, and being quite the weak link on the team so far, but plenty of games left to contribute points.

Been playing micro cash games on ACR just to get the feel for them again. Kind of got my ass handed to me for a few days, but have climbed back up into the positive.

Played 3 bullets in the Carbon $25K Dollar Frenzy today but kept getting killed on turns and rivers. Several people from CardsChat went deep into the field but not so deep into the prizepool. 1st place gets $3600+...not a bad return from $1.10. There were over 14,000 entries.

That's what's been going on, and I'll have more time to play and get my game back together soon. My family member who was going thru chemo will be completing that and I'll be able to take more weekend trips to the casinos to get something going.

Vegas: Little One For One Drop cliffs

Just a quick update on LOFO and Vegas experience:

-Busted out.
-Two team members made it into the money.
-Met lots of great people from CardsChat.
-Cashed for $444 in a Phamous daily at Planet Hollywood.
-Busted in a PH daily as well.
-Saw Main Event Day 1A in progress, and lots of well known poker players.
-Railed LOFO final 3 tables.
-Horse made a deep run in the Main which should give me a nice kick-back.
-Finishing up a writing project on the Vegas trip.
-Starting on a video for the YouTube channel regarding LOFO\Vegas.

Looking forward to the River Series at Winstar in August. Maria Ho is their front-woman and is on the billboards in Dallas. She made a spectacular run in the Main Event.

Going to restart the workout tomorrow and get back on track.
