Riess The Beast made a post-game comment that got the poker community abuzz:
"I just think I'm the best player in the world."
In a community of several repeat winners, I can see how this sounded naive, but I don't have a problem with it. In his mind, there was no other option but first place. Whether he is actually the best in the world or not will be up for debate, but he had to convince himself of greatness in order to win, and it worked.
Although I was rooting for Farber headsup, I admire Ryan Riess for his confidence, hard work, and winning attitude. #LFG
